Additional Notes The finds from this area indicate that Preston Quarry Pasture was one of the most significant of the rather few known mesolithic occupation sites in Wensleydale. It was a great shame that this extensive complex of occupation sites was allowed to be destroyed without formal archaeological assessment of its research potential.
